Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries for Sub-Postmasters and Sub-Postmistresses.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the number of sub-postmasters and sub-postmistresses in receipt, on 31st October, 1946, of weekly salaries (a) not exceeding 10/- per week; (b) exceeding 10/- but not exceeding 20/-; (c) exceeding 20/- but not exceeding 30/-; (d) exceeding 30/- but not exceeding 40/-; (e) exceeding 40/- but not exceeding 50/-; (f) exceeding 50/- but not exceeding 60/-; (g) exceeding 60/- but not exceeding 70/-; (h) exceeding 70/- but not exceeding 80/-; (i) exceeding 80/- but not exceeding 90/-; (j) exceeding 90/- but not exceeding 100/-; and (k) over 100/-.

The particulars are furnished in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

NOTE:—The 16 officers shown in category (a) have other State employment and their remuneration as Sub-Postmasters accordingly includes, at most, only a portion of the full Emergency Bonus paid to them. All Sub-Postmasters who are not employed in any other capacity by the State receive over 10/- a week.
