Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Timber for Farming Requirements.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of shortage of timber for the making of carts, gates and troughs for farmers; and if he will grant permits to farmers who need carts to secure the necessary timber for this purpose.

I am not aware of any lack of timber for the purposes referred to. Larch and hardwood timber are considered suitable for such work and reasonable supplies of these woods are available. Permits will be granted to persons who require such timber for the manufacture of the articles mentioned.
