Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of County Wexford School.

asked the Minister for Education the reasons for the delay in making a grant for the erection of a new school at Donard, County Wexford, where the local people are prepared to pay the stipulated local contribution towards this work.

The manager made representations to my Department that the normal quota of one-third of the cost of the proposed new school at Donard could not be provided from local resources and it was necessary to have investigations made as to the circumstances of the district to enable a decision in the matter to be reached.

The local contribution to be provided in the case has now been determined and my Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of the erection of the new school.
