Vol. 104 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Water Supply Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he can now state when a water supply and sewerage system will be provided for the village of Tallaght, County Dublin.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to a previous question on the 28th November last.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet sanctioned the proposals for a water supply and sewerage system for the villages of Newcastle, Rathcoole and Saggart, County Dublin, and if not, if it is his intention to sanction these proposals.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to his question on the 6th November last in regard to the proposed water supply for Newcastle. The amended documents have not since been resubmitted to my Department by the local authority.

As regards the supply for Rathcoole and Saggart, the proposals of the local authority have been discussed with their engineering staff. As a result it was agreed to amend the proposals and submit revised documents.

The provision of sewerage systems for these areas must be deferred until adequate piped water supplies are available.
