Vol. 104 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dispensary Doctors' Salaries.

Dr. Lynch

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the first increase in salary, for a number of years, for Dublin dispensary doctors was granted with effect from January, 1946, and amounted to 10/- a week for married men and 8/- a week for single men; and if, in view of the increased cost of living, he will take steps immediately to have the present salary scales applicable to these posts revised with a view to granting substantial increases.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The matter is, however, primarily one for decision by the commissioners acting as the Dublin Board of Assistance. No specific proposals have been received from the commissioners.
