Vol. 104 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Postal Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in order to obviate delays and facilitate the inhabitants of Dún Laoghaire and contiguous postal districts, he will make arrangements to have the English mails delivered by the morning delivery instead of by the evening delivery as at present.

Cross-Channel correspondence received by the night mail boat cannot be included in the morning postal delivery in the Dún Laoghaire Borough area. The interval is too short between the arrival of the boat and the commencement of the delivery. The boat is due to arrive at 6.45 a.m. and the delivery commences at 7 a.m.

Arising, however, out of representations from the Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation and other bodies, the following change has been made. From the 24th instant, the second delivery in the borough area, which includes the cross-Channel correspondence, commences at 3 p.m., instead of 6 p.m. as heretofore.
