Vol. 104 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Flooding in Ballinamore.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that considerable damage is caused by flooding in the Ballinamore district, arising from the condition of the bridge over the Fohera River; whether, as the drainage of this river is in the charge of the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell Drainage Board, while the road over the bridge is maintained by the Leitrim County Council, he will state which of these authorities is responsible for the construction and upkeep of this bridge; and whether permission must be obtained from his Department by the Leitrim County Council before undertaking the reconstruction of this bridge.

I am having inquiries made into this matter and I will communicate further with the Deputy.
