Vol. 105 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment Claim for Army Supplies.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Mr. William Donovan of Scarawalsh, Ferns, County Wexford, supplied sand and gravel to the Defence Forces during the emergency; that he has not yet been paid for this work; if he will take immediate steps to investigate the matter; and if he will make a statement as to the delay in making payment in this case.

I am not aware that the position is as stated by the Deputy. The only transaction with Mr. Donovan which can be traced in my Department was the purchase of 30 tons of gravel in March, 1942, which were paid for in July, 1942. If Mr. Donovan can supply details of his claim, giving particulars as to quantities, price and deliveries, I will have the matter investigated further.

Thank you.
