Vol. 105 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Longford Workers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received a resolution from the Longford County Council asking for sanction for the payment of an increase in the wages of their manual workers; and if so, what action he has taken in the matter.

I have received an application to increase the wages of road and turf workers to 47/- a week. I have sanctioned a rate of 44/- for road workers and 45/- for turf workers. I hope to be in a position to review these rates within the next two or three weeks.
