Written Answer. - Income-Tax Assessment.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in respect of each of the years 1942-43 to 1946-47 inclusive, and for such of those years as the figures are available: (a) the gross income of persons assessed to income-tax; (b) the total taxable income; (c) the net produce of the tax; (d) the average effective rate of tax levied on each £ of actual income; and (e) the net produce for each 1d. of the normal rate of tax.

Income Tax: Statement showing in respect of assessments made in each of the years 1942-43 to 1945-46: (a) gross income, (b) taxable income, (c) net produce of tax, (d) average effective rate of tax levied on each £ of actual income, and (e) the net produce for each penny of the standard rate of tax.
