Written Answers. - Vivisection.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state: (i) the number of places in Éire registered for vivisection; (ii) if any contribution, direct or indirect, is made towards such places out of State funds, by the National Health Insurance Fund, local rates, or from any source to which the State or local authorities contribute; and (iii) if he will name the places and the amounts of moneys concerned.

Following is the answer: (i) The number of places registered for vivisection is 24; (ii) no contribution is made for vivisection purposes from moneys administered by the Department of Justice, and the Department has no information as to contributions from any other source; (iii) the following places are registered under the Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876:—
