Vol. 106 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Compulsory Tillage Order.

asked the Minister for Asriculture if ho is aware that prosecutions, for failure to comply with the provisions of the Compulsory Tillage Order, are pending against some farmers, whose lands adjoin the River Shannon, in the Clondra-Newtown-forbes area, County Longford; and whether he will have these proceedings stayed, as the farmers concerned have complied with the tillage Orders in every previous year and are prevented from doing so this year owing to the abnormal rainfall and the fact that some of their lands are still under water.

No prosecutions for tillage defaults are pending at present against any occupiers in this area.
