Vol. 106 No. 12

Committee on Finance. - Vote 18—Secret Service.

Proinnsias Mac Aodhagáin

Tairgim:

Go ndeonfar suim nach mó ná £10,000 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfas chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31ú lá de Mharta, 1948, chun Seirbhíse Sicréidí.

There is no change in this Vote.

Would the Minister say, just roughly, how this Vote has varied down through the years? It used not be anything like £15,000.

I have not got the particulars. It has been around £10,000 or £15,000.

Is this not the highest?

It was £20,000 a couple of years ago.

Before the war it never ran to £15,000.

Maybe £10,000—£10,000 or £15,000.

At one period it was £5,000, I think.

That may be so.

Any reason?

Just the same as last year—no reason to change it.

Surely it is related to some sort of expedition and necessity for its use?

You just think of a number?

It is a standard figure now.

It is the way it is put up.

Vote put and agreed to.
