Vol. 106 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carriage of Sea-Sand.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the improved rail services now being provided, he will direct Córas Iompair Éireann to run a number of trains each week on the Clonakilty-Courtmacsherry branch railway line, for the carriage of sea-sand for manurial purposes, as this sand is of great value in increasing the yield of wheat and its carriage by road is so costly as to render its use uneconomic.

I am informed that it is the intention of the company to provide a number of special trains for this traffic.
