Vol. 106 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Flooding of Kerry Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that flooding of land on the Frank Pierce estate and the Creagh estate, Shanakill, Shanakeale, Castlemaine, County Kerry, is causing extensive losses to small farmers there; and if so, if he will direct the Land Commission to have the breach in the embankment repaired.

These and other embankments, within the extensive River Maine embankment system, are at present the subject of examination by the Land Commission. Many issues have to be considered but the matter is being expedited as much as possible. There will be no avoidable delay in reaching a decision.
