Vol. 106 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Gas Hours.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether, in view of the increasing coal supplies and the grave difficulties under which persons using gas for industrial purposes have been and are still labouring, any extension of the gas hours may be anticipated in the immediate future.

It is assumed that the question refers to the supply of gas in Dublin. Increased coal supplies in recent weeks have already been reflected in the Dublin Gas Company's announcements of increases in the hours of supply. It may be assumed that the further extension of hours of supply will be effected by the company if the position as regards coal supplies so permits, but I am not now able to say when this may be possible.
