Vol. 107 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fresh Bread Order.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has considered withdrawing the Order prohibiting the sale of fresh bread in Dublin and Bray; and if he is now prepared to revoke the Order.

Consultations have taken place with representatives of the trade, but I am not yet in a position to indicate a decision on the matter.

Will the Minister say when he expects to be in a position to give a decision?

The employers and workers in the trade are, of course, opposed to any withdrawal of the Order and I am considering the steps that might have to be taken for the purpose of adjusting their interest to the public interest.
