Vol. 107 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Cinema Tickets.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the sale of cinema tickets for Sunday night performances in Dublin, at prices considerably in excess of the face value of the tickets; and if, in view of the bad impression which this practice must leave on the large number of visitors at this season, he will take steps to stop the street trading in these tickets.

I am aware of the practice referred to by the Deputy. Under the existing law, there is no power to deal effectively with the resale of tickets at higher prices, and I am not satisfied that the abuse is such as to justify new legislation.
