Written Answers. - Electricity Supply Board Coal Consumption.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state, for each of the years 1937-38 to 1946-47 inclusive: (a) the quantity used; and (b) the average price per ton, of coal consumed in each of the Electricity Supply Board's generating stations; and if he will further state the amount of coal required to produce one kw. of electricity in each of these years.

The information asked for by the Deputy is set out in the following table:—

STATEMENT showing in respect of each of the years 1937/38 to 1946/47 inclusive (a) the amount of coal used in the Electricity Supply Board's Generating Stations; (b) the average price per ton of coal consumed and (c) the amount of coal required to produce 1 KWh of electricity.
