Vol. 108 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Receivable Orders.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take immediate steps to have placed on the back of each Land Commission receivable order, a statement showing the amount of the advance, the redemption value of the holding, and the year in which the holding will become free of rent, provided the annuity has been paid regularly.

This proposal is not feasible as regards redemption values which vary from day to day and, apart from that, the labour and time which would be involved in extracting details for endorsement on the receivable orders of more than 500,000 tenant purchasers could not be justified. Certificates of redemption value in individual cases are issued by the Land Commission on request.

Am I to understand that the redemption value varies from day to day?

Yes, in many cases.

In all cases?

In many cases.
