Vol. 108 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Poultry Inspector.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether representations have been made to him concerning the appointment of a poultry inspector at Rosslare Harbour; whether he is aware that a considerable number of poultry exporters in the southern and south-eastern counties desire to ship poultry through Rlosslare but are unable to use that port because of the failure to appoint an inspector to supervise the exports; and whether, in these circumstances, he will now take the necessary steps to secure the appointment of an inspector.

As I understand that the resumption of export of poultry through Rosslare Harbour is now possible, arrangements have been made to have an inspector of my Department available as from 1st November for the examination of poultry at that port.
