Committee on Finance. - Irish Shipping Limited Bill, 1947—Money Resolution.

I move:—

(1) That there shall be charged, levied and paid, in accordance with Orders made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce under statutory authority, levies on persons carrying on business in particular industries or groups of industries or carrying on a business consisting wholly or partly in the production of, or dealing in, any of the materials of any such industry or group, to enable the several development councils established by statutory authority for such industries or groups to defray their expenses in the discharge of their functions and their administrative expenses.

(2) That the levies shall be charged, levied and paid to the development council concerned at such rates as may be fixed by the council, with the approval of the Minister, under statutory authority and that provision shall be made by or under statute for the collection and enforcing of payment of the levies.
