Vol. 110 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply for Cork Village.

Mr. Lehane

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the village of Donnybrooke, Douglas, situated within three miles from the centre of Cork City, is still without a water supply for drinking or sanitary purposes; if he is also aware that the 320 residents there have been seeking these amenities for the past seven years; and if he will state when the scheme which has been passed by the county council engineer will be sanctioned by the Department of Local Government.

Mr. Murphy

The scheme was approved on 16th August, 1946. Tenders had to be invited more than once. The tender proposed by the local authority for acceptance was approved on 18th October, 1947.
