Vol. 110 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price for Beet.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether it is his intention as a result of the increased cost of production due to the rise in agricultural wages to recommend to the Irish Sugar Company the desirability of increasing the 1948-49 price for beet.

The question of the prices payable for sugar beet is one for settlement between the sugar beet growers and the sugar company and not one in which my Department has intervened or proposes ever to intervene.
