Vol. 110 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Importation of Perambulators.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has been informed by the manufacturers of perambulators that the unrestricted admission of these articles from England will soon cause the disemployment of workers in the industry here; whether he has considered their representations; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

Representations for the restoration of quota restrictions on the importation of perambulators have been made by the manufacturers of perambulators and the matter is being examined. The Deputy is no doubt aware that the protective duty of 75 per cent (full) and 50 per cent. (preferential) is still in operation.
