Vol. 110 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Manorhamilton Hospital Plans.

asked the Minister for Health what progress has been made in recent months towards the completion of the plans for the new surgical hospital at Manorhamilton; and if he will indicate when the work on the erection of this hospital is likely to be put in hands.

I have approved in principle of the sketch plans for the proposed new hospital at Manorhamilton.

The next step is the preparation of draft working drawings by the council's architects. When these drawings are available, they will be submitted to my Department for examination. I regret I cannot say when actual building will commence, but so far as the consideration of the further essential preliminaries involves intervention by my Department I can assure the Deputy that the matter will be handled as expeditiously as possible.
