Vol. 110 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Hospital and Dispensary Requirements.

asked the Minister for Health whether his Department has recently considered the question of erecting a district hospital in Cahirciveen; if a survey has been carried out with a view to determining the hospital and dispensary requirements of County Kerry; and if so, whether he will state the order of priority to be accorded to the various proposals.

I have intimated to the Kerry County Council that I consider that they should proceed with arrangements for the erection of a district hospital in Cahirciveen. Responsibility for expediting the work now rests with the local authority. As regards the remainder of the question a country-wide dispensary and hospital survey is at present proceeding but until it is completed and the results considered it would be undesirable to express a view as to the order of priority which should be accorded to the various proposals submitted to my Department.
