asked the Minister for Defence whether he will allow the increase in military pensions granted to members of the Defence Forces with long service who were discharged since 2nd September, 1947, to apply also to members who were discharged since the cessation of hostilities.

I have considered the case of the pensioners mentioned by the Deputy, but unless a Government decision is taken on the general question of increasing pensions I am not in a position to take any action in the matter.
