Vol. 110 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment of Unemployment Assistance and Pensions (Cork).

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is making arrangements to provide for the payment of the present city rates of unemployment assistance and widows' and orphans' pensions to applicants who are residing within the new area of the Cork Borough Constituency.

The Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1947, has not made any alteration in the administrative area of the County Borough of Cork and, consequently, persons residing outside the borough area but within the area of the borough constituency are not eligible for payment of unemployment assistance or pensions under the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Acts at the city rates.
