Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - International Trade Organisation.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state whether the text of the draft agreement for an international trade organisation concluded at Havana will be circulated to Deputies, and if he will state the attitude of the Government to this agreement.

The text of the proposed charter for an international trade organisation drawn up by the conference which met in Havana from the 21st November, 1947, to the 24th March, 1948, will be placed at the disposal of Deputies as soon as a sufficient number of copies become available.

The proposed charter is at present being examined by the various Departments concerned; as soon as this examination has been completed, the proposed charter, together with the Departmental observations thereon, will be considered by the Government. The Government's attitude will then be communicated to the Oireachtas.
