Vol. 110 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Pier Repairs.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the bad condition of the pier at Farraniaragh, Caherdaniel, County Kerry; and, if so, whether he will take steps to have the necessary repairs carried out at the earliest possible date.

A proposal for the repair and extension of the pier at Farraniaragh, Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry, has already been received, and arrangements have been made to have the site inspected by our engineer when he is next in the area.

Mr. Flynn

Will it be possible for the Parliamentary Secretary to arrange that the engineer in question will carry out this survey on the same date as the survey of Reenard Point, Valentia, County Kerry, takes place? Would it be possible to arrange that on that date the engineer will also complete his survey of this particular scheme?

Do not rush him.

I am surprised that the ex-Parliamentary Secretary was left so long in the job to make a remark like that. I assure the Deputy that if he will make representations to my Department in the matter I will have it carried out.

It will not take him 30 years anyway.
