Vol. 110 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Transport Accommodation.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he will consider posting the motor squadron in the aerodrome, Fermoy, in view of the anchorage accommodation for transport there.

The question of what unit will occupy Fermoy Aerodrome, when it ceases to be occupied by No. 2 Depôt, Construction Corps, is under active consideration.

Would the Minister be prepared to give some kind of undertaking that he intends in the near future to send some military personnel to Fermoy?

If the Deputy wants a firm guarantee from me at this moment that there will be troops in Fermoy, I cannot give it. The intention, I believe, of the General Staff is that some troops will be sent there.
