Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballingarry (County Limerick) Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position of the proposed water and sewerage scheme for the village of Ballingarry, County Limerick.

Mr. Murphy

The preparation of a water supply scheme for this village is a matter for the local authority who have already been informed that no objection would be raised, so far as the Department is concerned, to the preparation of plans based on a particular source proposed by them. The provision of a sewerage scheme cannot be considered until an adequate piped water supply is available.

Has the local authority not yet submitted any scheme?

Mr. Murphy

I understand that the local authority were informed on the 31st July, 1946, that no objection would be raised to the preparation of contract documents for a supply from a certain source and that plans have not since been received.
