Vol. 111 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Farms.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state: (a) the number of farms with a valuation of under £10 acquired compulsorily or otherwise by the Land Commission during the last 20 years in each of the following counties:—Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Donegal, Mayo and Kerry; (b) the number of holdings created for landless men in each county; (c) the average valuation and the average acreage of such new holdings; (d) the number of acres in each county acquired for enlarging uneconomic holdings together with the average value of such holdings before and after enlargement; (e) the total number of migrants from each of these counties during the period; (f) the total valuation and acreage of land vacated by the migrants and the total valuation and acreage of the land which they received in exchange; (g) the number of applications for exchange of holdings received but not dealt with from persons in each of the counties mentioned during the period; and (h) the number which the Land Commission expect to deal with within the next two years.

Information on the lines of the Deputy's question is not available. I am having extracted from Land Commission records figures which may give the Deputy the details he requires under the nearest possible headings to those of his question. It will take some little time to extract and tabulate this information which will be sent to the Deputy when ready.
