Vol. 111 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 2, 4 and 5—Votes 52 and 54.

What about No. 3?

The Deputy appears to be extremely worried about that Bill. I stated some weeks ago that I had hoped to put this Bill for hearing this week. The Deputy would not take my assurance which was intended to be in that statement that I would give it as soon as possible. If the Deputy persists in worrying about the matter he will wait for a considerable time. Deputies should remember that financial business takes precedence of all other business at this time of the year.

That is the Taoiseach's reply.

I took the Taoiseach's word. Apparently I was mistaken in taking it.

I will give it to the Deputy when it suits me.

The Taoiseach would be well advised to seek a little co-operation. Financial business can be expedited or delayed.

So far as co-operation has been sought between this Party and the Opposition Party, we have not got that co-operation which we expected.

If that is the way the Government want it, they can have it.

Is the Deputy now offering on behalf of his Party to cooperate with the Government?

With a pack of people who do not even know the truth when they see it?

Is the Deputy, as the responsible Leader of his Party, now offering on behalf of his Party to cooperate with the Government?

We cannot see the truth in front of us now.

I am talking about the conduct of Dáil business. You cannot have it both ways.
