Vol. 111 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Cottages (County Dublin).

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state: (1) the number of county council cottages to be erected under existing contracts in County Dublin, and (2) the areas where arrangements in connection with the building of these cottages are proceeding in regard to either of the following: (a) acquisition of lands for sites; (b) preparation of building sites.

Mr. Murphy

As the reply contains a considerable amount of statistical matter, I ask the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to have it circulated with the Official Report:—

The following is the reply:—

(1) Contracts have been entered into by the Dublin County Council for the erection of 94 labourers' cottages, viz., 12 at Santry and 82 at Balbriggan, while a tender has been accepted for the erection of a further 92 cottages at Swords, and tenders have been received for the erection of 84 cottages at Tolka, Finglas. The development of these sites has already been completed under separate contracts.

(2) Sites have been acquired in the following areas, and development work is in progress in accordance with contracts:—
