Vol. 111 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Dublin Electricity Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will make representations to the Electricity Supply Board to provide electric light and power to residents along Skerries Road, Rush, and also extend these services to Loughshinny village.

I am advised by the Electricity Supply Board that the cost of extending supply to Skerries Road, Rush, renders the extension impractical at present. The proposal will be kept under review in case other possible development in that area would make the extension feasible. Supply to Loughshinny could not be undertaken as a normal development. It is expected that an area including Loughshinny will be examined in the course of the next year to ascertain the possibility of extending supply under the rural electrification scheme.
