Vol. 111 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital for Cappawhite (County Tipperary).

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider the establishment of a cottage hospital at Cappawhite, County Tipperary, in the near future.

The Hospitals Commission have reported that they do not consider that the building of a cottage hospital at Cappawhite would be justified and, having regard to the fact that there are hospitals in Cashel and Tipperary, I am disposed to accept that view. There is a very large number of urgent hospital building proposals which will need to be undertaken in the immediate future and, for that reason, I am afraid that I see little hope at present of considering the building of a hospital at Cappawhite until these rather more urgent requirements are met.
