Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Scéimeanna Tithe do Chontae Luimnighe.

D'fhiafruigh

den Aire Rialtais Aitiúil conas atá an scéal maidir le scéim tithe do Phálás Caonraighe, Contae Luimnighe.

Mr. Murphy

On the 24th June I approved of the purchase by the Limerick County Council of a site containing 3½ acres for the erection of houses at Pallaskenry. The number of houses to be erected on the site depends on whether water and sewerage services are provided and the Department is in communication with the council on this matter.

D'fhiafruigh

den Aire Rialtais Aitiúil cathain a tosnófar ar scéim na dtithe sa Chaisleán Nua. Contae Luimnighe.

Mr. Murphy

On the 23rd June I confirmed a compulsory purchase order authorising the Limerick County Council to acquire three sites in the town, totalling 17½ acres, for housing purposes. The council propose to build 140 houses on these sites. I cannot say precisely at this stage when the erection of the houses will commence, but in the normal course it should be possible to make a start before the end of the year.

D'fhiafruigh

den Aire Rialtais Aitiúil conas atá an scéal maidir le scéim tithe don bhFaing, Contae Luimnighe.

Mr. Murphy

A site of 4½ acres at Foynes which the Limerick County Council proposed to acquire compulsorily for housing purposes was excluded from a confirming Order made by me on the 23rd ultimo, as the site was unsuitable for building purposes. The proposals of the council for the acquisition of alternative sites to satisfy the housing needs of the area are awaited.
