Vol. 111 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Tolka Estate Housing Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether baths and bathrooms will be provided by the Dublin County Council in the houses proposed to be erected at Tolka estate, Finglas, and whether such amenities will be provided in future by all local authorities where sewerage and a water supply are available.

The houses which are being provided by the Dublin County Council at Tolka estate, Finglas, will have bathrooms and baths.

As regards new housing schemes in general, it is the normal practice of local authorities to provide baths, or bathroom space where the fittings are not immediately available, in cases where piped water and sewerage facilities exist. This practice has been encouraged by the Department, and local authorities have been advised to provide bathroom space, even where water supply and sewerage are not immediately available.
