Vol. 111 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the reasons for the undue delay in carrying out the water supply and sewerage schemes in Shinrone, Crinkle, Kinnitty and Cloghan, County Offaly, and if he will arrange with the local authorities to have these urgent schemes carried out immediately.

A water supply scheme for Shinrone has been approved but the local authority experienced difficulty in acquiring all the rights necessary for its execution. It is understood that the difficulty has now been overcome and that tenders for carrying out the work will be invited at an early date.

No proposals have been submitted for the provision of water supplies at Kinnitty, Cloghan and Crinkle. The provision of sewerage schemes in these places could not be undertaken until piped water supplies are available.
