Vol. 111 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Birr Dispensary.

asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the fact that the present dispensary for Birr is situated three-quarters of a mile from the town, he will arrange for its transfer to the district hospital or to some other convenient centre.

I am informed that while the new dispensary is situated on the outskirts of the town of Birr, its location should not cause undue inconvenience to persons attending it. The county manager is satisfied that the new dispensary is very suitable and as regards equipment and general arrangements is superior to the old premises, which were located in the town.

I do not consider it necessary, therefore, to make representations to the local authority for its transfer to the district hospital. I am informed that the possibility of obtaining a suitable site in the town is remote.
