Written Answers to Questions. - Milch Cow Statistics.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of milch cows (1) in Ireland at present, and (2) in (a) each county, and (b) each province on the 30th June in each of the years 1927, 1937 and 1947.

The information is as follows:—

(excluding the Six North-Eastern Counties)

The enumeration of live stock is made in respect of the 1st June each year and statistics for the 30th June are not available. Accordingly, the following table shows the number of milch cows at the 1st June in each of the years specified:—
