Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deaths from Road Accidents.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of deaths in 1947 arising from traffic conditions as a total figure in respect of accidents occurring upon the following Dublin and County Dublin roads: Clontarf Road, Amiens Street, South Circular Road, North Circular Road, Merrion Road, Donnybrook Road to Stillorgan, Drumcondra Road to Santry, Griffith Avenue; further, if he will state the total number of deaths occurring in the Dublin Metropolitan Area from road accidents for the same year.

The number of persons killed in 1947 as a result of traffic accidents on the roads mentioned by the Deputy is as follows:—

Clontarf Road, Amiens Street, South Circular Road and Griffith Avenue

The total number of deaths occurring in the Dublin Metropolitan Area from road traffic accidents in 1947 was 41.
