Vol. 112 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commodore Hotel, Cobh.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will consider requesting an independent valuer to assess the current value of the Commodore Hotel, Cobh, as a going concern; further, whether he will state if it was the opinion of the Irish Tourist Board that the sum paid for this hotel was related to the goodwill value or whether it was with a view to developing the tourist trade at Cobh that the sum of £11,000 was paid for it.

I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served by having an independent valuation made of the Commodore Hotel, Cobh. The hotel was acquired by the Irish Tourist Board as part of a general plan for the improvement of facilities for visitors landing and embarking at Cobh.
