Vol. 112 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether a contract for the provision of a water supply at Donnybrook, Douglas, County Cork, has been placed; and, if so, what steps have been taken by the contractor to procure the necessary piping; further, whether he is aware that some three years ago a private firm was prepared to supply water to a number of houses in the district but its representatives were advised not to do so as the local authority would attend to the matter.

Mr. Murphy

There have been no further developments, so far as I am aware, since I replied on the 1st instant to the Deputy's question in regard to this matter. I am endeavouring to expedite the delivery of pipes for water mains. I have no information concerning the offer of a private firm to supply water to houses in the district.
