Vol. 113 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Republican Army Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware of the fact that considerable hardship has been caused to members of the Fingal Brigade, Old Irish Republication Army, by virtue of their being refused service pensions; if, further, he is now in a position to indicate the intentions of the Government in relation to this matter.

I am not aware that hardship has been caused to members of the Fingal Brigade, Old Irish Republican Army, by virtue of their not having been awarded pensions under the Military Services Pensions Acts.

The whole question of the amendment of the Acts is at present under active consideration, and I hope to be in a position to make a statement on the matter at an early date.
