Vol. 113 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bourn Vincent Estate Labourers.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has considered the claims of the labourers on the Bourn Vincent estate, Killarney, for an increase in their rates of pay; and, if so, whether he will sanction this increase at the earliest possible date.

A claim on behalf of the labourers employed at the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney, for an increase in their rates of pay is at present under consideration, and a decision will be taken as soon as possible.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say through what organisation did that claim come?

I received a deputation from Deputy Dunne on behalf. I think, of the rural workers, and I also received several representations from Deputy Flynn on behalf of the same people.

So the honours are even.

Regardless of representations, people will get what they deserve, and that, I think, is what the workers on the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park will get.
