Vol. 114 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - High Court Sittings in Cork.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that people living in Munster are greatly inconvenienced by not having sittings of the High Court in Cork to deal with Munster cases that have now to be heard in Dublin; and if, having regard to the great expense involved in bringing witnesses, lawyers, etc., to the capital, the difficulty in securing accommodation, and the fact that there is a resident Bar and a Law Library in Cork, he will arrange for High Court Judges to hear cases, other than appeals, there.

I will give this matter very careful consideration, but the Deputy will appreciate that legislation would be required and I cannot at the moment undertake that any such legislation will be introduced in the near future.
