Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is now the position with regard to the acquisition of the farm of Mr. Michael Begley, Facefield, Claremorris, County Mayo.

The Land Commission are not yet in a position to state if or when the lands of Facefield, owned by Michael Begley, will be acquired.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that congestion exists in the townlands of Currohoguile and Driney, Loughglynn, County Roscommon, and that a farm of approximately 60 acres of land is untenanted in the locality; and, if so, whether the Land Commission will take immediate action to have this land acquired for the relief of the congestion which exists.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the holding referred to by the Deputy.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to resume proceedings for the acquisition and division of the Studdert estate, Cratloe, County Clare, comprising approximately 400 acres, to relieve congestion in the area.

I presume that the Deputy refers to the Studdert estate at Bunratty East. The Land Commission have the position in this case under review.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission intends to acquire the non-residential farm of Mr. Peter Kelly, townland of Tonlagee, Reynold estate, Roscommon, for the relief of congestion.

The Land Commission have decided to take no action for the present for the acquisition of these lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission intends to acquire the lands of Mr. Patrick Casserley, Gardentown estate, Roscommon, for the relief of congestion.

The Land Commission are having inquiries made regarding the lands of Gardentown and Annitabeg owned by Mr. Patrick Casserley.

asked the Minister for Lands whether, in view of the acute congestion in the area, he will take steps to acquire the lands of representatives Louis Ward, Oldtown, Kilcashel (near Ballydangan), Roscommon, for the relief of congestion.

The Land Commission are having inquiries made regarding the lands of Oldtown, Kilcashel and Newtown owned by the representatives Louis Ward.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission intends to take steps to acquire the lands of Mr. Martin Fallon, Camlough, Taughmaconnell, for the relief of congestion in the area.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of the lands of Camlough owned by Mr. Martin Fallon.
